Jesus Lives in North Korea and He Reigns in His People There

Subscribe to new posts
Photos of North Korea taken from the air at night show a land in darkness.
It is truly a land in darkness but there is light there that is visible from Heaven – it’s the light of believers who need our prayers.
Let’s bring them before the throne of the High King that they would be bold, brave, strong, and know they are not alone.
“But recall the former days when, after you were enlightened, you endured a hard struggle with sufferings,
sometimes being publicly exposed to reproach and affliction, and sometimes being partners with those so treated.
For you had compassion on those in prison, and you joyfully accepted the plundering of your property, since you knew that you yourselves had a better possession and an abiding one.
Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.” Hebrews 10:32-37 (ESV)
The prayers of the saints are not without effect. The weapons we fight with are not of this world.
Let us turn as one to our Father on behalf of our brothers and sisters who suffer and endure in the darkness.

    Sister Lori,
My name is Sung Kim and I’m a pastor of a local church here in northern CA. I am a Korean-American and as such, quite concerned for my countrymen from the North. Yes, I consider them my countrymen even though our lives, our ideologies, everything about us, really, are so much different. The 38th Parallel can’t stop them from being my countrymen. And I feel for them and fear for them.

I wanted to say thank you. Thank you, specifically for helping to shine a light (a big ol’ spotlight) on this evil regime that has slaughtered countless numbers of Christians. You truly have my respect and fondness. May the Lord bless you, your ministry, and your family. -Pastor Sung Kim

  2. Now you’ve made me cry. It’s wonderful to meet you, brother. May God unite the cries of our hearts in prayer and may our prayers move His forces in the heavenly realm on behalf of those lights in the dark.

Thank-you for the reminder, Lori. Too often here in America where most of us are comfortable and un-persecuted it is so easy to forget the needs of those who are out of sight– but the church is one body- family- no matter which part of the world they are in. We need to remember to pray, especially for those who are receiving strong persecution overseas. The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (Jas. 5:16).

My husband and I were just reading Smith Wigglesworth today and the topic was persecution, then I found your blog, so I think God is trying to remind me to pray for the persecuted more!

Have you read the book “The Heavenly Man” by Brother Yun? It is a powerful true story of a man’s victory through tribulations in the persecuted church of China.

    God bless.

If you hear His voice today, harden not your hearts! So much evil in this world that is passing away. We are in this world but no of it. The Lord tells us not to fear those who can kill the body but rather to fear Him who has the power to cast a soul into hell. I pray with others that the mercy and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be upon each and everyone of these 33 Christians, that they see Jesus standing up to receive them into glory. May the divine presence take over their souls and set them free from their earthly temples.
