  • When Evil has a Lovely Mother
Posted on Wednesday, May 15th, 2019 | Filed under Blog | Tagged: abortion, biblical truth, discernment in modern times, hard conversations about deception, how to discern the truth, pro-life, wide-spread deception

What if you met the mother of evil and thought she was a lovely woman? Would you then invite evil over for cookies? In Men in Black, Will Smith engages in training to battle alien invaders. During a simulation, he and the other trainees encounter a scene that involves a little girl walking in a …[ read more ]

  • Speaking Truth to Powerful Women
Posted on Friday, March 8th, 2019 | Filed under Blog | Tagged: abortion rights, are women better than men, culture of death, equality in the church, pro-life, speaking truth to power, what makes a woman beautiful, women and beauty, women in politics, women in power

Women are powerful beings.  With a glance, we can raise a man’s hopes or wither his self-esteem (often leaving me to wonder why burka-enforcing men think it safe to leave a window for the laser-beam of a woman’s eyes.) As women have risen to inhabit an equal place in culture (which is a good thing), …[ read more ]

  • The Church Knows Better . . .
Posted on Saturday, January 28th, 2017 | Filed under Blog | Tagged: gender and the church, how to respond to our culture, immigration, one in Christ, pro-life, racial reconciliation, refugees, right to life, the church's call to unity, to march or not to march, unity and world peace, unity in Christ

We’re a nation of wrestlers. Daily we contend with the greater issues of our humanity. How do we define gender and sexuality? How do we love our neighbors – those within and those without our borders? How can we protect our loved ones from violence and terrorists? Is it ever moral to take a life? …[ read more ]

If I can shout louder than you can, does that make me right? Does the volume of the outcry justify the stand? If there are many us, thousands, in fact, and we all shout at once, does that mean that now we own the truth? When people shout at us, we’re tempted to shout back. …[ read more ]

  • There Should Be More Weeping
Posted on Wednesday, January 23rd, 2013 | Filed under Blog | Tagged: abortion, anniversary of Roe v Wade, Christians and abortion, pro-choice, pro-life, remembering the unborn

It’s not a political issue for me – really. Whatever that means. It’s a source of unspeakable sadness. To appreciate my perspective, understand I came up through the sixties, seventies, eighties, and nineties. I was there for the dawning of the age of Aquarius when all the long- haired, tie-dyed promises of the future came …[ read more ]

Lori, Our Lord never ceases to amaze.. you have succeeded in disturbing this Hobbit! I have been struggling with spiritual apathy and indifference recently and reading your witty, convicting, engaging, infuriating writings has helped me to realize that I am in good company. They have also given me the kick-start I need to get off my laurels! Keep looking up..keep going on for the Lord dear sister-in-Christ!
