Posted on Wednesday, September 26th, 2012 | Filed under Blog | Tagged: bullied in the name of Jesus, bullies in the church, church bullies, healing from being bullied, James 1:19-20

Have you ever been bullied in the name of Jesus? I have. I remember each one of them. Like a full offensive guard scowling at me from across the 50-yard line. They didn’t know one another and they were separated by years and even denominations, but they were a united team. They were bullies for …[ read more ]

Posted on Thursday, April 7th, 2011 | Filed under Blog | Tagged: angry Christians, coping with anger, James 1:19-20, man's anger, trichophagia

This week I learned about a rare disorder called trichophagia. Well, “learned about” might be stretching it. I was watching a BBC drama series about a doctor in a small village and one of the characters presented with symptoms that turned out to be trichophagia. Mom!” In the next frame Calvin’s mother has black clouds around her …[ read more ]

I’m not very good at moral outrage and I always feel a little guilty that I’m not. Take, for instance, the new Gap commercial that’s out now to encourage people to spend money for the holidays. It features an engaging rainbow assortment of young people dressed in Gap clothing dancing to aerobic choreography and chanting …[ read more ]

Lori, Our Lord never ceases to amaze.. you have succeeded in disturbing this Hobbit! I have been struggling with spiritual apathy and indifference recently and reading your witty, convicting, engaging, infuriating writings has helped me to realize that I am in good company. They have also given me the kick-start I need to get off my laurels! Keep looking up..keep going on for the Lord dear sister-in-Christ!
