Posted on Tuesday, February 6th, 2018 | Filed under Blog | Tagged: creative Christians, defending God's Word, defending the truth, proclaiming God's Word, proclaiming the truth, the Bible is truth, war for souls

It could be that I’m still stoked from the sermon I heard two weeks ago. It was a solid message with dynamic delivery. You know what I mean. Like the moment the pastor opens his mouth, you know you won’t be working on your weekly to-do list until after church. He preached on Jesus cleansing …[ read more ]

Posted on Monday, September 21st, 2015 | Filed under Blog | Tagged: creative Christians, creativity, exercising creativity, Ted talks, the decline of play, the healing power of creativity, the power of music, the power of play, the thing we've forgotten and it's killing us, the value of play, why create

Confused. We’ve confused the calling on our lives and it’s killing us. You would think, if you spend any time on social media or Christian media in general, that there is a gospel command for every Christian to: try to get as famous as we absolutely can, have an opinion about every topic discussed in …[ read more ]

Curious to me, laden with mystery and promise, are the opening verses of Genesis. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (God. Father, Son, Spirit. Three in one. The creative force behind color, sound, texture, taste, energy, light.) “The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep.” …[ read more ]

You would think, if you spend any time on social media or Christian media in general, that there is a gospel command for every Christian to try to get as famous as we absolutely can, to have an opinion about every topic discussed in the marketplace, to ultimately make contact with hundreds of thousands of …[ read more ]

  • Pleasing God by Sitting on My Butt
Posted on Saturday, September 14th, 2013 | Filed under Blog | Tagged: creative Christians, David, is there more than one way to please God, King David, pleasing God through the arts, what pleases God

“I’ve heard there was a secret chord that David played and it pleased the Lord” That line isn’t just a really cool opening  to a song by Leonard Cohen it contains a freeing truth that more creative Christians should receive like a whizzing pass from Tom Brady and run with it all the way to …[ read more ]

Lori, Our Lord never ceases to amaze.. you have succeeded in disturbing this Hobbit! I have been struggling with spiritual apathy and indifference recently and reading your witty, convicting, engaging, infuriating writings has helped me to realize that I am in good company. They have also given me the kick-start I need to get off my laurels! Keep looking up..keep going on for the Lord dear sister-in-Christ!
